A study on the Frequencies of U,Diegoa, and Kell Blood Group Antigens and anti-Dia and anti-K in Koreans

Abstract
|
|
|
The blood group antigens and antibodies have been studied and utilized in a wide
area of scientific investigation or medical practice including immunohematology, genetics,
forensic medicine, anthropology, etc. In Korea, however, some minor group antigen
frequencies have not been studied yet or studied in only a small number of population.
So relatively large numbers of individuals are used in these study and the results are
as follows:
1. The frequency of U antigen is 100% (in 436 case) and gene frequency is 1.00.
2. The frequancy of Diegoa antigen is 8.18% (in 318 case) and gene
frequency is 0.0418.
3 The frequency of Kell antigen is 0% (in 1,598 case) and gene frequency is 0.
4. The frequency of anti-Dia is extemely rare (1 in 1,846 case).
5. The frequency of anti-K is 0 (in 8,140 case).
